Our Mission
In the spirit of service, not self, the Mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support the American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace, and security.
Vision Statement
The vision of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support the American Legion while becoming the premier service organization and foundation of every community providing support for our veterans, our military, and their families by shaping a positive future in an atmosphere of fellowship, patriotism, peace and security.
We are the largest patriotic women's organization in the world! For nearly a century, the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion have worked side-by-side promoting patriotism and national security while supporting youth and advocating for veterans and active-duty military. The Legion Family also includes the American Legion Riders, who are comprised of members of the American Legion Family in any capacity, who raise funds for youth scholarships and promote patriotism in our local communities.
While members of or American Legion Family are individually unique, collectively we are a multi-million member powerhouse of caring advocates dedicated to service. You and your family can join us! You'll find that being connected to the American Legion Family is one of the best decisions you'll ever make! Our organization has amazing benefits such as life insurance, dental and vision insurance, and many discounts on everything from hotel rooms to car rentals to dinner discounts. We do great work in our local community in Pocatello, from volunteering at our local Idaho State Veteran's Home, to holding barbecues for homeless veterans and shelters, to assisting with Toys-for-Tots, Military Family Appreciation Day, Field of Heroes, and Veterans' Christmas presents. We serve at our local Veteran's Home for holidays such as St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo, and especially at Christmas, where the Gift Table is a great part of the Veterans' holiday season!
You don't have to be a member to come participate in our service projects, but only members of the American Legion Family are eligible for benefits and to be Legion Riders! Please consider attending a meeting with us or check out the events page and meet up with us at a service project and we will be happy to show you how awesome membership can be!
